"He was patient, knowledgeable and very helpful with slowing down the technique, form and reasoning behind the workouts."   Troy P.

Swimming at West Superior Training, I noticed on their website classes being offered for both HIIT and Strength Training. It was wintertime, so a good time to mix up the traditional endurance training I am normally focused on for triathlons. I decided to sign up for a punch card with Lee. It turned out to be a great decision.

I was able to build strength while working on cardio in the HIIT group classes and it offered quite the work out. I participated in a number of these classes with Lee as the instructor, every time, the class offered something new and different, which kept it interesting and challenging. I decided to give the personalized strength training a try and this is where I got to know Lee even better.

He is clearly passionate about fitness, strength training and in general a healthy active lifestyle. He was patient, knowledgeable and very helpful with slowing down the technique, form and reasoning behind the workouts. I would highly recommend Lee as an instructor or personal trainer in this capacity. I certainly learned a lot from him and have seen improvements in other areas due to his instruction.

"Lee's coaching, fueled by passion, is informed by both a vast personal experience and a dedicated study of exercise physiology"  Ann N. age 63

Faced with osteoporosis, I needed a weight bearing exercise program. After 12 private sessions this health investment with FortyFourStrong has proven to be excellent. Though I can't see the changes in bone density, there is no doubt I have gained strength. It feels good to be strong!

Lee's coaching, fueled by passion, is informed by both a vast personal experience and a dedicated study of exercise physiology . I recommend him to anyone seeking to gain strength. Warning: it is not for the faint of heart. The workouts are demanding, but the rewards are worth the effort.

"I would recommend Lee and his class to everyone!"

Laurie O.

I can always count on a great workout when I go to Lee's HIIT class.  He is always looking out to make sure we are using proper form and that we are pushing ourselves as hard as we can.  I would recommend Lee and his class to everyone!

"What I can tell you, is my "fat guy" clothes are loose and I'm back in some of my skinny guy clothes. My posture has changed! I feel 100% stronger! And I just feel good."    Rob M.

A few weeks after my 40th (wow I'm old!) I get a phone call from Lee telling me I have no choice but to do his workout. He goes on to stress how important it is for my body to get "as strong as possible" to compensate for any bad habits I have bombarded my body since settling down (family, work, real life etc) and to prepare it for its next stage.

...I'm 20lbs overweight, my "fat guy" set of clothes are getting tight on me, and yep, I'm 40...Fine, lets try it.

As it goes, Lee took me though a basic assessment of the 5 major lifts he uses, squat, bench, deadlift, press and later the cleans. From here we had a starting point and a plan of progression moving forward.

Quick bio - I played high school sports, some intramurals in college, and have worked out on-and-off for the past 15 years. I thought of myself as a reasonable former athlete however, never got fully immersed in weight lifting for any sport.

-Now, I'm scared...I've done all these lifts before, however never in an ongoing workout and never with a ton of weight.

Here goes nothing...

On the workout days (3 days a week for me), I would do my reps as instructed. Each next workout day, the lifts would slightly change (among the 5) but the weight would go up. As time went on, I would start looking forward to the weight I had to lift next, how far can this go?

Well, fast forward 3 .5 months, I was lifting an insane amounts of weight and it got hard, real hard. Lee tells me the weight is supposed to be hard to lift and that it puts stress on my body for it to change. Fast forward 1.5 months...

August 18th, 2017 Jan 18, 2018

Squat 245lbs Squat 405lbs max

Bench 135lbs Bench 250lbs max

Deadlift 250lbs Deadlift 405lbs max

Press 105lbs Press 155lbs for 5 reps

Cleans 135lbs Cleans 195lbs for 3 reps

What I can tell you, is my "fat guy" clothes are loose and I'm back in some of my skinny guy clothes. My posture has changed! I feel 100% stronger! And I just feel good. I would be so upset if I quit at the "its getting hard" 3.5 month mark. That last 5 or 6 weeks gave me the push to lift those weights and Lee helped all the way. I would definitely not change a thing!

In the couple months since workouts have changed however I still use these lifts. I have a new found attraction to training in the gym as opposed to exercising in it.

Lee, you have helped immensely. I think this program is a must for people. I've told you this before, but my favorite part of this whole thing was performing exceptionally well at my annual thanksgiving football bowl, was just throwing people around! Its also nice to hear from some that hasn't seen you on a while comment on your appearance. I think its a neat program and I think people will flock to it because it works.

Wishing you continued success.
